Top 5 mods that won't void warranty?

Are there 5 that can be done to increase HP but, not void my warranty? What mods and by whom are they made?
Nismo exhaust
Piggyback ECU
Intake, which one is best?
What else?
And yes, i am new to this so i can't really get all the abbreviations yet and don't know what i am doing. This is my 1st sports car. I know, 36 year old noob but, i learn quick.

Actually, you can do anything to your car and not void your warranty. The only time you will run into a problem is if whatever mod you do is a dirrect result in some kind of malfunction. Atleast thats how it has been interprited to me.

this is true

Yeah.

piggyback ecu?? that would pretty much kill your warranty man.... you have to start splicing wires from your ecu to install the piggyback ecu.... gotta be the worst thing to do in terms of trying to maintain your warranty.

zand02max Apr 13, 2005 06:21 PM

Nismo is not warranted unless installed by the dealer.

Typically...not all require you to splice wires.

Crap, i hate the politics of this.
What piggyback doesn't require splicing? Why can't they make plugs to go in between the harness and jacks? Wouldn't that be the easiest thing?
What about Unorthodox pulley sets?
I will not touch my suspension, mine has the feathering problem. 10,000 and the tires were shot, just had them replaced last week. Those bastards will pay for it if it happens again.
So, to be safe, all i can really do is cold air and a freaking Nismo bumber sticker?!!!! Great.

Basically any S-Tune installed by NIssan is warrantied, Click Here, R-Tune is not covered, headers, cams, ect!

If you are that worried. I would do all NISMO S-Tune parts.

The only thing i see is Cat back exhaust as far as increasing HP. Is that all they offer? I thought they make a CAI and a Different plenium.
The reason i am wanting more is because a kid pulled to me at the redlight in a little Honda with the big *** wing, dials all in the dash, big ole mufflers sticking out and i didn't beat him by far. Maybe half a car length.
I would have stopped to talk but, just before he pulled to light i got the drop on a 20mph go. He pulled to the light and i heard him say " OK, *****, " something something, and if i stopped to talk to him i would have had to crumple him up and shove him in his trunk till he smelled funny.

he had half a car lenth on your stock Z eh?

you'll need about 8hp to stay even with him and about 10-15hp to be half a car length ahead of him

easiest way to do that is:

intake (jwt popcharger recommended)
angled plenum spacer
high flow cats (recommend crawford)
exhaust

should cost about $2000 for all parts and installation (try installing them yourself if you can)

I'd also recommend upgrading the suspension ASAP to avoid your tires feathering again - because they will. Better tires will just make it take longer to happen

DayBlueZ Apr 13, 2005 08:06 PM

No, i had him by half a car length.

Go here for NISMO parts...good selection...good prices (discounts for forum members too). I would do R-Tune...frankly, I don't think most dealer will know. http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...sort=2a&page=1

hksjza70 Apr 13, 2005 09:44 PM

y-pipe
exhaust
grounding kit
drop in air filter

hmmm . . . can't think of the fifth . . .

Armitage Apr 14, 2005 04:45 AM

Popcharger
Plenum
Headers
Y-pipe
Exhaust

Machupo Apr 14, 2005 04:59 AM

If you want to stay warrantied no matter what,

Nismo S-Tune Suspension
Nismo wheels (unless you have a track model, this will reduce rotating mass)
Nismo S-Tune exhaust (full system = Y-pipe back)
Nismo CAI (cold air intake)
Nismo Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch

All purchased from and installed by your dealer.

you will still have tire feathering problems, in fact it will probably get worse with the lowering of the car... but you will be covered until the end of your warranty on any part. One thing I don't know is that if you have a nismo part that goes bad, does the dealer replace the nismo part or replace the stock part under warranty? (can someone chime in, please?)

Once the warranty runs out, get front A-arms and rear camber arms to fix the tire feathering problem... then start modding the crap out of the Z :D

My $0.02 ;)

DayBlueZ you gotta meet up with us sometime... Ninja-Z, Zachcrosen, and I hook up and cook out, go to Steele to drag race, etc. and hang out with some other tuner guys (STi, Evo, 300zx, NSX, etc. type people). I am moving back to Hoover at the end of the month, currently in Oneonta.

I got news for you: you can spend thousands of dollars on mods and still have a civic or even a pinto pull on you still. Depending on how a car is modded, it can be very quick. Do some searching on the internet and you will find out there are some very quick civics.

DayBlueZ Apr 14, 2005 12:31 PM

Yea, i've noticed the quicker pocket road-rockets cruizing around here. This one had to be moded. At least i hope it was. I really don't want to lose to a stock welfare wagon. I'm just new to the whole thing and couldn't tell if it was a stock machine.
Sounds good xephiron, just PM me and i'll find some time to get around.
