All of the sudden yesterday I start my car and the check engine light came on. I had driven about 10 miles to my Mom's house and it sat there for about 1.5 hours and when I started it to come back home, the light came on. I tried disconnecting the battery cable and that did not make it go off. Any ideas of why it would just come on all of a sudden? I really don't want to make the 45 minute drive to Nissan to get it looked at.

Go to Auto Zone and have them see what is causing the CEL. Its free and there has to be one local to you.
