Mind boggling.

as far as warrenty yeah I agree.

For me it's cause I like the Z and already own one. I could sell it for a loss, but then I'm losing money and I don't really want higher car payments and higher insurance associated with say a corvette.

A person can spend 20k in building up the engine and turboing it and get 450-500hp and still have plenty of room to keep gaining more power after that with more mods.

It's also for the sake of having your own unique car.

How many people drive stock 06 corvettes or even slightly modded ones? How many people drive a TT Z with all sorts of custom modifications?

I think it's all about picking a car you like and making it do what you want. I'm sure you can make any car perform fast, but do you like the car?

Hey Speedracer,

If I remember correctly, you had an F/I Z a little while back. HKS supercharged right? You had alot of problems and had it removed. Are you in Cali running on the craptastic 91 octane? If so, a good return fuel system, ecu, and tune should be at the top of your list. I still think 91 octane is a big hurdle for alot of board members with mods so become friends with a good tuning shop. I am in the process of finishing out my breathing mods (Headers, Intake Manny, Throttle Body) and am really itching for a beefy cam profile... Tomei 272....286....305.... *drool*

Some of us have the mod bug and will mod what ever we drive. If I would have bought a $60K car it would have turned into a $90K by the time I was done. With my G I will be done around $70K including what I paid for the car. I will save $20K in the end and have a bad **** car

I was wondering what you guys would recommend for an NA Z running a beefier cam profile (270-80 series?) to hit 325rwhp. What reliability mods would be needed? I'm guessing the whole valves, springs, retainers deal with rod bolts and con rods. Any input? Also, I did a search and found a thread on blown Greddy kits with alot of people pointing to the CAS (Crank Angle Sensor?). Does the CAS affect NA cars?

If you're going NA you may want to chat w/ Paul @ Avalon Racing. He only owns NA Zs and is a multi Gold Medallion winner. He's got a fantastic mechanic named Jeff who's done all the work on my car that I didn't do myself. These guys really know their stuff.
