Default Unorthodox Crank Pulley cause of A/C failure?

After installing my Unorthodox Racing Crank Pulley my A/C wasn't blowing cold. I took it for a smog check and had the Jiffy Lube guys check the A/C while I was there. They said that the compressor was shot. Could this happen because of the underdrive pulley or is it just a coincidince? I really need the A/C because it has been 115+ here in Vegas for the past couple of days. Thanks.

You'll probably never know, although I highly doubt it.

Do we have any data that will show how much slower the compressor is spinning? I don't think within the RPM decrease it would over-heat a compressor.

I do know that you will probably have issues getting it replaced under warranty due to the pullies, you could try to put your stock pulley back on but they will know that it was replaced previously.

Good luck with that one!

My warranty is up anyway. Thats why I am trying to figure it out on my own. The Nissan dealer here wants $1300 for parts and labor!

Ive had my CP on for 20K+ miles with no issues. My car idles way low at like 600rpm's and with the udp, my a/c doesnt blow cold at idle, as soon as I rev to 750-800rpm's its fine. If anything if your underdriving your a/c the condenser should last longer, not fail faster. Dont trust the tools at Jiffy Lube, go get a 2nd opinion from a good mechanic-also dont go to your stealership...

Pulley, if installed correctly, shouldn't cause ANYTHING to fail

have had my pulley for 10K miles, and honestly couldn't tell the difference between before and after.. AC, PS, etc all have been working flawlessly. Even in traffic it has been working great.

just curious, but if you install JUST the crank pulley, this would affect the AC even though the other pulleys are stock?

another question, how would the UR pulley fare with the hawker oddesey battery?

Yeah, it would still affect AC

and I've been running a 680 hawker for a year without a single glitch. I wouldn't run the 535/545 though.
