Default Another NISMO Suspension Review

From TLC on another forum:

"The newest issue of Sport Z magazine has a short article on the NISMO parts that will be coming to the US. The article has impressions of a road test done at Nissan's Arizona proving grounds and the tester said that the suspension kit (sway bars, shocks, springs) made a big difference in the handling (said he felt that it was cornering at 1.0gs or more).

Also had some interesting comments about dicing with a 911 and Corvette at Gingerman raceway."

The article was written by a NISMO project engineer. The first tests were of the NISMO brake pads on a stock Touring model (also had S-03 tires). Conclusion was that the stock pads on the Touring wore out very quickly at the track (Gingerman).
The engineer was able to keep up with a few 911's and a Corvette even though this was his first time at the track and the other drivers had prior track time on that circuit. Again, this was in a stock Touring. He also said he intentionally let one of the 911s get about 150 yards ahead of him and then caught him again after a couple of laps.

The NISMO suspension tests were done at the Arizona test center. A couple of quotes:
"..the kit completely transformed the manners of the car".
".. handled like it was on rails".
"...seat of the pants impression is that the cornering forces are well above 1.0g."

A few comments on the exhaust ("sounds like a Ferrari") and "frees up a little power and torque"

Do you know if this is with the stock rims/tires?

WOW....Gingerman is track to test handling(short track with very little straights). The Z must handle damn well to keep up with cars of that caliber. I am suprised that the pads wore out so quickly. My maxima on street performance pads lasted all day without any problems there.
