I am thinking about this combination. Does anyone have this? If so what are your impressions? I am mainly concerned about drivability and noise. Thanks for your input.

 

Come on guys I know someone is bound to have this set up.

 

I just got it. Its very driveable, but there is a pretty bad noise when you lug the motor, but I think that is a function of the flywheel more than the clutch. The JWT/JWT combo supposedly make this noise as well.

Thanks for the reply. The main reason that I am considering the JWT flywheel over the Nismo is because it is lighter. Was that the reason you chose the JWT flywheel or were there other considerations? I am also concerned about the noise. It appears that the JWT flywheel may be prone to make more noise/chatter than the Nismo is prone to.

Also how do you like your 3.9 ring and pinion? After my clutch and flywheel that may be my next purchase. Thanks.

RAR has that combo. Minimal noise. Very driveable.

 

I have the JWT fly/clutch combo. Awesome. Same pedal feel but better holding power with the jwt 1100 kg pressure plate. Why not just get the JWT as a set.....can be found for around $700-750.

It is reall hard to find a Clutch and Flywheel Combo fit your driving habbit.
Is it really hard to drive with JWT combo as a daily drive?

 

This is a great set up combinging the best of a light weight flywheel with alight weight easy to drive clutch...

the biggest difference with this set up vs. the JWT CLutch & FLy is the NISMO Clutch is a few pounds lighter then the JWT clutch...

Also, the JWT Clutch has a sprung hub clutch disc... while the NISMO clutch does Not have a sprung hub clutch disc... THis will make for the NISMO clutch to be more responsive when side stepping the clutch etc...

Is there a clutch/flywheel setup that doesnt make this chatter? it just makes the car sound cheap...Ive had Findanza flywheel and ACT clutch on my first car and never had chattering issues..It was on a Probe GT...Is there something wrong with the Z setup? Even stock as I am now I hear chatter. theres got to be a fix. Sounds like something is tightened up properly etc. Friend with an M3 loves the Z but hates the clunky sounds. Detracts from an otherwise sweet car imho.

 

You can use any of the above mentioned clutches with the stock flywheel...

if you go to a single mass flywheel you will get more chatter...

 

no all aftermarket ones will make noise pretty much

you can always raise your idle to get rid of the sound...

 

Same here, I have the Nismo/JWT combo, and its like driving a truck when lugged... but when you get on it, you forget all about it

When in doubt, get Tilton full-street.....there will be no regrets.....Just ask Jason, he can vouch for that... lol

I have this setup on my car, Nismo cutch, and JWT flywheel. I came from a Tilton full street setup to this recently. I really enjoy it much more during every day driving, it is easy on the leg, it is much easier to drive, and overall, the Nismo clutch grabs pretty well. I'm very happy with the setup overall, and highly recomend it. Noise, well the JWT tends to be a little noisy, but nothing bad, and it's only noisy until 3k rpms, and only if you are very light on the throttle. It's not bad at all IMO. I actually drove a few friend's cars with the JWT setup, and that's what prompted me to get this.
For those worried about driveability, do not worry, it's a totally streetable setup, with obvious performance gains...
