Default ? for those with radiator shroud/diversion plate

Do they make that much of a difference? Can you see your temp decreasing or is it mainly for show? This may sound strange but I was a bit worried that it might prevent cool air from coming in through the engine compartment and helping cool it down. in other words, the normal set-up allows for cool outside air to flow over the plenum and out the back by the windshield to help cool the engine. Any truth to that line of thought or am I just over thinking it? Thanks

I haven't noticed any change in temps, one way or the other. It does look better, though.

It's intended to force air to flow through the radiator/intercooler area. I didn't notice any performance gains but it certainly looks a lot better under the hood.

No, there is no logic to what you said. The diversion plate on this car is just for show. If you notice, there is a row of rubber weatherstripping around the hood by the front of the engine bay to prevent air from bypassing the radiator. Hence, air cannot get through the space where the diversion plate is mounted, and so it's just for looks. The air that flows through the radiator still runs around other engine components prior to exiting the engine compartment.
