Default SPEC Clutch and Flywheel !! ANother alternative!

Is your clutch worn out? Need a clutch?

SPEC clutch is another good alternative to consider.

For those who haven't heard of SPEC (Star Performance Engineered Clutch), they have been making clutches for muscle cars for quite a while, and recently a lot of SR20 guys have been using them.

(myself had used spec stage 2 and 3 on 2 of my s14 that i owned, also stage 3 for a our shop S14 that is making 450whp)

Here's what spec has to offer for the VQ

Stage 1 - List$549 Torque capacity: 430
Stage 2 - List$659 Torque capacity: 485
Stage 2+ -List$699 Torque capacity: 525
Stage 3 -List $659 torque capacity: 560
Stage 3+ -List $799 torque capacity: 660
Stage 4 -List $659 torque capacity: 560
Stage 5 -List $825 torque capacity: 720

Price for forum members will be significantly lower than List price of course.

stage 2 - 3 are the most popular ones and the most we've sold, pedal is very similar to stock(unlike xxx brand is quite heavy), smooth engagement and very suitable for daily driving. the stage2+ and 3+ are new versions just released, difference is they hold more power yet maintain a smooth engagement and light pedal. (stage 4 and 5 are recommanded for race only)

being the VQ is a fairly new application, some people might hesitate and ask if it's a good clutch, go do a search on Google and you'll see there are a lot of reviews out there.

What is the difference with the + version? More pressure? I own a stage 3 6 puck and it slips at 475 ft lbs to the ground, so I need to replace it.

the Plus(+) version supports more power than the regular version(2,3), yet maintains the same feel.

Stage2+
For all modified engines making more torque than the stage 2 can support. Maintains stage 2 feel for good daily drivability and offers very good wear characteristics, but provides a higher torque capacity. High clamp pressure plate, composite multi-friction carbon-kevlar material, high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, bearing and tool kit.

Stage3+
For heavily modified street and race engines making more torque than the stage 3 can support. Offers good daily drivability and better manageability than the stage 3, with even better wear characteristics.

High clamp pressure plate, full-faced carbon metallic friction, high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, bearing and tool kit.
