Install of UR Crank pulley and MD 5/16 plenum spacer
I'm just curious how hard it is to install the UR crank pulley and MD plenum spacer? I'm going to order them along with a JWT popcharger. I know I can handle the popcharger but i've never messed with the crank pulley or plenum spacer. Did most of you guys install them yourself or did you have a shop do it?

Spacer is easy as others have pointed out. It's a good idea to have a torque wrench as the plenum is very easy to strip the threads on.
Don't know about the UR pulley, but the KJR pulley is relatively easy to install. The hard part is getting the bolt broke loose on the stock pulley.

to break the bolt, attach a breaker bar to the bolt and brace it against something metal or the ground. have someone hold the bar firm while you bump the key in the ignition. dont start it, just give it a quick bump once or twice.
if you dont feel comfortable doing this i dont recommend doing the pulley install at home as there are not many other ways to break it free. its on there really good.
and no this likely will nto hurt your starter or crank pulley, (ive done this 3 times myself on diff cars, and know shops that use only this method if they cant get airtools in there)

The MD kit is well though out and complete. You will need no other parts, and the instructions are good. Take your time, keep the various bolts and nuts separate as you take them off, and don't force anything - if it seems tight, then you probably still have a bolt or hose to remove first.
IMO a torque wrench calibrated in in-lbs (minimum of 30 in-lbs, some wrenches don't go that low) is essential. You can "get by" with a screwdriver-type socket, but not with an open end wrench or ratchet! You simply need the right tools, all of which are outlined in the MD instructions. Have everything ready before you start!
Don't know about installing the pulley - haven't used one on the Z yet but it appears to be a good mod.

well, i got lazy and just dropped the car off at midas this morning to have the pulley installed.....i don't feel like dealing with breaker bars and jack stands.
i think they're going to take out the radiator completely to have more room.
big bucks im sure....but its worth it for me.

thats not necessary (taking it out) though it does help to loosen it.
fyi its held in with jsut a few clips, if they try to say it was a PITA to take out the radiator, get on them.

well i just got the car back....they charged me 160 bucks and i was fine with it.....but thanks for the heads up....
as for the performance, i can't really say that i feel much of anything....im suprised a little because so many people have said they felt the difference....i wasn't expecting anything drastic though so its okay....im sure it freed up some of the power.....can't wait to take it to the track and run some mid 14's.....

it takes about a week for it to fully adjust. try resetting the ecu as well.
i remember when i put mine on, about 1 week later it just felt so much cleaner while accelerating when i press the gas.
