Default 06 Z got slower after mods

Hey guys, I installed my test pipes and intake and I got slower. This is really weird, i'm wondering how long it takes for the ECU to actually recognize mods if it ever does. I'm sure I dont need a tune just for test pipes and an intake do I? Any information would help, thanks.

Define "slower" please.

0-60 times; ¼mile times; top speed. What are you basing "slower" on?

Well, you could always try putting the stock parts back on and see if it returns to the previous level of performance. Especially the intake, the Z's stock intake is pretty good. There's not a lot of HP gain from a CAI, in fact some people claim you lose HP.

It moved the power to a different end of the spectrum. Otherwise a rat crawled in your throttle body and died.

I've heard when you disconnect the (-) battery cable it takes 24 hours for the ECU to reset. Or you can try this: https://my350z.com/forum/showthre...=THROTTLE+BODY

Itll feel slower under 2500rpm, after that it'll feel alot slower. If ur doing intake exhaust mods the best thing u cna get is some kind of engine management.. jermaine made 28whp just off of test pipes and utec... he hit 300whp w headers, intake, exhaust, test pipes..manifold

After I did headers and such to my revup motor, it took awhile for the computer to adjust. After that I could definately feel the added power.
