Default Brand new car... tranny bangs when clutch is engaged

while driving around in 1st and 2nd gear ive noticed if you cruise at a slow pace around 2500 rpms then take your foot of the gas and let the car deaccelerate down to around 2000rpms and push the clutch in, the tranny makes a banging sound. is this normal? the car is brand new 06 with 26 miles

Normal... My 06 makes a really loud metal to metal noise and I got to take it in to the dealer for a replacement.

You are talking about the backlash sound after you press your clutch. Yeah that will go away after the clutch wears out a bit and you will know how to work the high engage/release point of it. Happened to me first few days. I bought it with 17 miles on the odo.
