Default Evap Canister Relocation

Hello,

I realize that with some aftermarket exhausts the evap canister has to be relocated. What exactly is an evap canister? And also is there any detriment to having it relocated? Will this be an issue come smog time? Any and all help would be much appreciated. BTW sorry for the ignorance...i am kinda new to all this technical stuff...

Evap relocation is only needed on the Greddy EVO2 exhaust as far as I know. If you don't plan on getting that exhaust, don't worry about it.

Thanks Zivman...it's kinda funny but i am kinda leaning towards a Greddy exhaust so i was curious as to what the potential issues may be...thought i also saw another one where the evap canister needed to be relocated....not sure...

ya no need to remove. all the evap does is take the expanding fumes in your tank and purges them into the motor to help reduce emissions from the fumes escaping into the atmosphere. it will purge into the motor at various throttle positions. it is a very basic system with only a few wires and a couple hoses. i believe the wire harness will extend to a completely out of the way position (if the stock muffler is gone) and it is simply just running longer hoses. it is located at the very rear passenger side under the car. no worries in undoing the lines, they are not filled with gas. just don't light a lighter either, lol.
