Well, unless you guys do your own installs/tune...you're going to spend a hell of a lot more.

I stopped planning. Everytime I buy something & say I'm done, I ALWAYS find something else to buy.

We plan to do the same thing we have done to two other Zs...leave it stock, do the normal maintenance and put about 300k very enjoyable miles on it. Our ol '82 is stil going strong for our daughter, we gave it to her when she turned 16, she is now 25.

Once you start, it really never stops

I just sold every single mod on my part except my springs so I can trade the Z for something new. But every day when I pass a modded Z however minor, I say to myself, "****, should I buy a new set of rims and body kit or build a sleeper and then later on slap on the kit?"

Threads like this are dumb. The OP is missing soooo many pieces needed for that set-up, wait till he see hisface when his bill is not $11K.

But if you are serious about doing anything, www.forgedperformance.com

I dont doubt you are capable of doing this.. But you are missing ALOT of money in there.. Im building my own motor and Iam WAYYYY past $11305. You still have to pay a shop to do the machine work on your block.. Change all bearings, piece the crank, rods, pistons, seals rod bolts and all misc parts into the short block and balance the motor.. Even though your piecing your own parts and say "YOUR BUILDING YOUR OWN MOTOR" .. your really not b/c the shop has to put it together into a small block in order to have it balanced properly and be sure the bore is correct.. No piston/rods are built 100% the same spec. So Iam already $1500 deep in motor labor I wasnt expecting. Just an FYI

Just to add to your list to make you even poorer:
DECENT Engine Management: $1800 Tuned
Propper Guages Sensors: $600
Seals for rebuild:$280
Bearings:$175
Fuel Return:$800
RTV:$20
Oil:$30
Filter:$10

The list could keep going if I wanted to nit pick even further

I'm sorry I didn't put every little thing on that list. I was simply giving an idea as to what I'm wanting to do. Also I don't ever recall saying I was doing the building. I stated that I was getting all the machine work and tuning done. Also who cares if it is a dream list. My idea for this thread was just a fun little idea where everyone could share what direction they were headed.
