I've been doing some research about cams lately and from what I see these are 2 of the most aggressive cams out. I've heard that both are great and that the tomei's would be still be good with FI if i decide to go that route. Are the spec 2's good with FI or should they be a strictly NA came due to their raised duration? I'm still relatively new with cams and I have used the SEARCH button but there always seem to be some questions that pop up that are not directly answered. Thank you.

Well the only reason I asked that about making good power from cams without headers is because I'd eventually like to go with a turbo setup so i don't particularly want put money in that direction when it could be used towards the turbo. The cams would at least be useful with the turbo setup.
i've got the tomei 268's and love 'em -- raised my idle to 1000rpm after the install (was stalling from 650), but they sound awesome and are like a kick in the pants once the pedal goes down
I have nismo spec 1 cams which are slightly wilder than Tomei ones... you really need to get that tuned up correctly for not getting the car stalled out or any idle hunt... and we spent heaps of time on that especially tune with cam timings...
Tomei will be a good choice if you want to go for TT later... one aussie member has no problem running that and he is going for the APS TT setup in the near future!
cheers,
richie

Tomei 268's are not all that aggressive - actually they are a moderate level cam. They also are no longer made, as they have been replaced and augmented in the Tomei lineup by several more aggressive grinds (all designed with high end power in mind)
Duration or lift alone have nothing to do with a cam being a "good" FI or NA cam or not - it's the interaction and relationship of the intake and exhaust cam, as well as the actual lobe design itself.
You're not going to get 20 whp, or anywhere close to it, across the board, without doing a proper header, and you certainly are not going to get anywhere near that without a tune. A cam like a Tomei, or JUN, or NISMO Spec 2's are a complete waste of time without a proper header and tune - you mind as well install the header in the trunk at that point, as you'll net the same gains (that is to say, none). Cams are an awesome mod - but they need to be joined by the proper parts and installed/tuned by someone who knows what they are doing.

-I gained 23whp with DC header-Spec 2 cams- Technosquare reflash. With an Utec I probably could have been another 5-10whp from what we have saw.

right - you gained it with headers, and Spec 2's (far more aggressive cam to the Tomei 268) and with tuning...without tuning, all is lost.
In order to decide the right cam, you have to decide what your plans are down the road first.

I just had the Nismo cams installed and can't believe the difference from about 3000 rpm to redline. I know the Nismo cams are not very aggressive compared to the Tomeis or certainly the Nismo Spec 2s, but I can tell a noticable difference up top. Perhaps that is partially due to my other NA mods. I have to believe the cams are enhanced by my other mods or vice versa depending on how you look at it.
My only issue has been the idle which is now going to get bumped to 850 rpm. I wonder if I need to consider any further tuning? I have the Technosquare reflash for my other mods, including the Crawford plenum, headers and cats.
