Default Would a damaged evap canister throw CEL?

I was involved in an accident and damaged the passenger side rear of my car a few days ago, and today the CEL came on. Could a damaged evap canister cause this? My car goes into the shop next week for repairs, and I just wanted some peace of mind for the next few days.

The ECU monitors the amount of vacuum being pulled in the EVAP canister. It you crack it and it leaks, you will lose vacuum and get a CEL.

Yes, but if you can, get the code scanned asap at autozone or an equivalent store
