As far as Nismo parts are concerned I haven't actually seen anything outside of the rumor mill that there will be any significant performance parts for the 350 besides Exhaust & Suspension - at least in the beginning. From what I've read from Nismo's site & from car mags, ie April issue of Car & Driver, Nismo is effectively making the complete parts set for the Type-S available in american dealerships. Dealers will even be able to offer these cars fully built if they do the work themselves ahead of time. There will be no type-s available straight from the factory. And the S-Tune does not have a chip - in either US or JDM flavors.

Even the "chip" conversation has been going on since I pre-ordered my car over a year ago. I am beginning to think this is a unicorn - a mythical being that doesn't exist but continue to be milled on because they look/sound pretty.

I would challenge ANYONE to find even a line hinting at the existance of a chip from a reputable source and to post that on this forum. Until then I'm waiting for Chebosto's chip to come through, as well as a number of other aftermarket groups that are sending their chips out to Japan to get "tinkered".

HAHAHA...I wouldn't be surprised if they told me my mom was a virgin

All I know is there are going to be some incredibly happy people. The reaons I asked Clyde for the dealership is because to be blunt, dealers aren't supposed to be saying anything publicly about what is coming down the pipe. Most dealers still don't know everything that is planned, and those that know some things have heard from unconfirmed sources so even they may or may not be correct.

Let's put it this way....

If there were two different ECU's available RIGHT NOW for the 350Z, and they both offered nice gains at a reasonable price....

I would WAIT until the April has come and gone before buying.

I didn't say anything. Just call me da' riddler!

lol

I hope this applies to the NISMO suspension kit.

JmanZ,

Hypothetically if there were chips coming out in april, which you of course never mentioned, and if we could hypothetically already get in line to get one, let's pretend you can reserve one for me.... hypthetically of course. hehe

And the next big excitement begins

Jman one would say you are lucky to have this info but then again it would kill me not to be able to tell everyone. I like a good secrete but this one would eat away at me.

Cant wait to hear what it is.

Later

When in April is the announcement going to be made? Are we going to have to wait til the end of April (a month and a half away) or are we going to hear the news in the beginning of the month? (only two weeks away! wee!)

I wanna know!! I wanna know!!

JmanZ, what you lack in quantity on this board you more than make for in QUALITY. Having gone through the interminable wait from my car after ordering on day one, I never thought I would miss the feeling of anticipation that plagued me during that 9 months. But here we are again being played by Nissan and NISMO, teased with rumors and gnerally feeling frustrated.

I had been dismissing the stories since I didn't know the sources (not saying they are wrong, I just don't know them) or they were dealers (which I never believe). Now that a known source is teasing us, I have that old familar feeling again, and its kind of fun.

Thanks Jmanz!

One of the magazines mentioned "Off Highway" parts such as cams and headers coming soon. I'm hoping that the new news involves some emissions legal performance upgrades. I hope the ECU is in this category.

I've already decided on the NISMO suspension and exhaust. Would like an ECU upgrade to top it off but only if it's street legal.
