i was just wondering if the stillen engine damper would void my warranty on the Z?? and how about the exhaust? the guy at downtown nissan told me that if i get an exhaust i would void ALL my engine warranty but my suspension and drivetrain would be ok. is this true?@?@!!!

 

exhaust does not void anything! also engine dampner will not void anything!! the mods you are talking about are way too minor... now if you start talking Nitrous, FI, dropping a few inches, or extreme mods.. then you would be stepping into that category(on your own)as far as warrantee... have fun with your car.. wait until you have had it a few months and work out the kinks.. then go extreme.. unless your a big balla.. like some of us...

 

Look up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It was issued for your protection, you should know something about it. The dealer cannot void your warranty unless he can show that the changes you made were DIRECTLY responsible for the failure for which you are requesting warranty work.

If they feel like being dicks, then what follows is up to you (lawyer, State Attourney General, etc.).

 

Dealers have nothing to do with warranty between you and Nissan. Dealers try to get every warranty penny they can from Nissan, when that fails you must pay.

They can lie or omit information to Nissan as they chose, the penalty for getting caught is severe and usually results in Nissan forcing the dealership to find a new service manager and a team of auditors checking and back billing errors and a lot full of ugly purple cars on the next shipment making the owner furious at his staff [for getting caught].

A dealer is an independent business fully protected by state franchise laws and thus they can chose who they accept or continue to accept as customers. Easiest to just tell customers to go somewhere else for service and have a nice day.
