Do u have problems with ur legs ??? Hmmmmm ????? If u dont and it's hard to press down , u have a prob.
One thing that could be is the fact it is 4 yrs old and has lost it's lube. On new installs , I always clean the splined shaft spotlessly, then lube it with a very thin layer of Hi-Temp synthetic grease, same with the pivots AND the Throw-out brg shaft. All that makes all the difference in the world.
Iv had people complain for two weeks cuz it dont "feel right" til they get used to it, then love it.
