Default SGP Pivot Ball??????

What is the purpose (had porpose before the edit) of the SGP Pivot Ball?

http://sgpracing-store.stores.yahoo....rachpibaf.html

I was just looking around and noticed this and can't figure out where this goes. I'm trying to understand what it does so i can know if it really needs to be replaced.

Pics would definately help...of the part installed obviously.

Don't know bro.. just know it has something to do with drag setups for your clutch.

This is the pivot point for the release bearing fork in the tranny (manual). When you push on the clutch pedal, the slave cylinder pushes a metal rod that acts like a teeter totter. This piece goes in the middle. The other end pushes the throw out bearing to disengage the clutch.

Heavy clutches put stress on both the clutch fork and the pivot points, so you have to beef them up sometimes.

Default Yep...

It is something you would want to go ahead and replace while you are doing a clutch or pulling the tranny. I would do the pivot ball along with these pieces at the same time:

and

http://sgpracing-store.stores.yahoo....ststcllif.html

Minimal additional cost, but makes a difference in feel/longevity.
