Ugh just like the JWT then. That's what I was afraid of.

I have had the JUN flywheel for almost 4 years. I had the Nismo clutch installed later.

Reason i went with Nismo and not something else, is due to the fact i had my transmission replaced. It was replaced under warranty and they installed the clutch at the same time.

I have the jwt clutch, but I paired it with the act prolite flywheel and it I like it.

Tilton....it's tons of fun.

hahaha, seriously though, i was being very sarcastic while thinking about traffic to and from work every day. It takes some practice and constant awareness of what is going on. You never get accustomed to the Tilton, as soon as you think you have learned it, WHAMO...it is there to remind you that you can't handle it.

But i love it and i would never go with anything else...as long as i still have the choice. It revs like a bike, that siht is really intimidating when a mustang starts a revving contest.

yeah, I dealt with a tilton for a year and a half trying to get used to it. Never did. It was when I started dreading driving the car, that I knew it was time to go to something else. It is fun though when you get a chance to go all out. Shifts are quick with how fast the engine can move to adjust to the new rpm after shifting

I have JWT Flywheel and Clutch, and TT, and it runs smooth as silk.

I test drove another car last Friday with the JUN flywheel, felt great, but then again his clutch was TOTALLY different and I hated it, not sure what it was though.

where can you guys get the Jun flywheel at?

I think performance nissan can get them. I would check with some of the vendors on this site.

The JUN flywheel is a great flywheel, I think both jwt and act are aluminium...and the JUN is forged chromoly which is much better.

as far as I know, a couple of vendors I've contacted to find the flywheel last time didn't have any in stock. They had tried to order from JUN but JUN wasn't shipping anymore to the US.

Unless you know someone in Japan, I think it's pretty hard to find them. I think you can get them from Australia too...

Have a JUN coming off my car on March 7th but someone called first dibs on it already with 1 or 2 people in line if the deal falls through. Watch my post in the marketplace and if all the deal falls through it might be yours.

The JWT is aluminum with a friction plate but the ACT Prolite and Streetlite are both forged chromoly like the Jun.

What is so bad about having a friction plate? Just wondering.

In the past I've had bad experiences with both my car and other cars I've worked on with the mounting bolts for the friction plate backing out, heat associated from the friction plate warping the aluminum flywheel, threads on the flywheel cross threading and stripping out, and generally it seems to result in more grinding/ambient "cement mixer" type noise at idle. Conversely every chromoly unit I've driven on the Z so far (or heard in person like the Jun) have been quieter at idle. There's no friction plate retaining hardware to back out, I've never seen the threads strip out, and the chromoly can be quickly and easily resurfaced instead of replacing a friction plate.

I kind of wondered about the bolts when i bought my jwt flywheel. I also like the friction plate, it seems a little easier to me to just replace it when i do the clutch instead of taking the flywheel off and taking it to the machine shop so i guess its a trade off. My jwt is not that noticeable at idle. I actually have to listen for it sometimes. You can hear it at partial throttle at around 2k-3k rpms though. Probably like 20% throttle, it doesnt bother me.

MIA thanks for the info. I think it was Z1 that recommended the ACT clutches and flywheels. I may look into them when I go that route.

I think your correct....Fidanza is a quality product IMO, lots of members in the LS1 community use these & have great results with em.....not too sure about the 350z's....When I had a VQ35de I used mostly JWT & loved their products:)

They also make steel flywheels, but according to them there's generally no weight savings.

JUN, ACT, and tilton are the only flywheels made from chromoly that i know of. If you want to use a convential diameter chromoly clutch/flywheel combo, JUN is the only choice.

BTW, JWT/fidanza = damn near identical. Some even say the JWT is a rebadged fidanza, and i believe it.

i went with the act clutch and prolite flywheel =)
