My engine will be getting built this May and I should get a new clutch while the engine is torn down. I should be around the 600whp area with all the new part. I was wondering if the RPS max clutch with sprung 6 puck disc hold this HP. I already have the JWT flywheel installed so this clutch will fit. I really don't want to spent almost 3000 dollars for a triple disc. Are there any other options?

I am pretty sure the RPS setup incorporates its own flywheel and won't work with an oem or JWT flywheel - though I am not completely sure.
the extra money for a multiface carbon is worth it. Longevity and drivability will more than pay for the difference in price. If you are talking over 400 whp, especially into the 500's you would be a fool not to spend the money on an ATS or Exedy multiface. IMHO, the two things most people underbuy are their clutch and EMS. I underbought my first clutch and have lived and learned from the experience

I reviewed the clutchmasters website and your post and they state for racing only. The clutch FX700 is rated for 700hp so is that like 560whp given the 20% drivetrain loss. Do you or any other forum members have personal experience with this clutch? It is alot cheaper than the other options and I have had good success with clutchmasters in the past. I don't know what my exact whp will be after the build, but I don't want to be limited by my clutch capacity.

I had a RPS Max 6 Puck w/396rwtq and it was fine. When I built my motor, I went to 500+rwtq and my builder suggested that it would not hold the way I drive my car.
The RPS does work with the JWT. That is what I had. So, I don't really know if it will hold at increased levels but I will tell you that I loved the clutch way better than my triple. If I had money to blow, I would put the RPS back on and see if it holds well or not.
If you don't drive like a maniac and you keep the torque closer to 500rwtq most of the drive time, I would think that it would be fine. If I were you, knowing what I know now, I would go with the RPS Max.

i have the clutchmasters stage 4 cluck (6 puck) spring hub for 30% harder then stock feel ...it holds 500ftlbs (to the wheels) i have talked to a rep because i said i "mioght" wanna push more power then that later on and he said it has been put to 550 ftlbs...... 1100 clutch/flywheel
if that doesnt work what about a twin disk carbon??sharif told me it was the next step....clutch flywheel combo i think was 2grand if i remember right and can easily hold 650ftlbs ...good luck in ur decision...

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go with a twin disc but I don't know which one. I want a clutch that will hold the power and if I ever want more power I won't have to upgrade the clutch again. Playing with the Z has been expensive. I went with NA, then Procharger, and now the twins. I have had to sell alot of stuff because you always want more power. I have read posts on this forum that even the twin discs like (exedy) have slipped right under 600whp. Like I said before I don't know what whp numbers I will have but I know it won't be enough later on, you always get used to hp.
Jonb7007- I will be going to sgp on may 19th to drop the car off. Hows your built beast driving? I see you diving around in town, the car looks good.

Did you ever find a clutch for your ride? I see your posts to clutch sales in the marketplace. Good luck with the build. After mine is done we should head to the track and lay down the smack down.
