1whp is easily within the margin of error on any dyno...

Once in a while someone keeps digging this electric stuff up

Well, this has been said already but I'll beat the dead horse again and say it's worthless. I've seen someone run some basic energy calculations on those things and the physics didn't lie. I wish I could still find the link to the whole write up. Pretty much, it came down to the fact that in order to compress and FLOW (most important part) enough air to make a difference, the energy requirements would make it completely impractical. You'd have to generate ridiculous amounts of current to make it happen. I think the number I recall was something in the order of about 10 car batteries or something like 6 alternators. Pretty much ridiculous. You'll find people that swear by them. Maybe they found a way to convince laws of physics to look the other way while they turn them on. There are no miracles when it comes to this stuff. You'd be surprised how much air your engine flows during regular operation. You'll have a hard time finding an electric turbine that will be able to exceed that flow and produce enough pressure while doing it to make noticable power.

Heck, even dynos have margins of error. When people say they gained 5whp according to dyno, it really doesn't mean much. You gain that just by showing up on a cooler day and doing a run. It proves nothing. I'd be more convinced if someone showed me a MAF sensor readout with comparable temps that prove that it does in fact flow more air. Based on that, you can accurately estimate how much power you'll make based on grams of air injested. That's more scientific and concrete. I don't think you'll find anyone posting something like that though, and for a good reason

Just go to any computer/electronics store and buy a 3" fan for $10.00 and mount it in you intake. Same result for waaaaaaaaay less money.
