Default Axle Carnage!!!

Went out this weekend to Countyline. And I didnt make it off the line. I launched at around 3500 on drag radial. I was scared I blow the motor, but I was happy to see the car was still Idling after what sounded like a Shotgun blast.

Here is what happened at Countyline.

Then this happened after Japtrix installed the new axle. We found out the damage didnt stop at the axle.

The third pic is the rear diff cover w/ oil on it and sitting lower. It is held up by going through that circle piece on that silver support structure, which is now pointing down.

The next two are views of where the cover broke.

Anyone have an extra diff cover? PM me. TIA!

Did you experience some wicked wheel hop? What type of launch technique did you use?

While it may sound stupid. For unexperienced draggers.. How would you do that?

Launch 1/2-3/4" from the point of engagement-inotherwords clutch barely in so the car isnt moving. Dont push clutch to the floor and "drop it" and shock the drivetrain just because you have sticky tires! OP-what clutch were you running? Time for a solid rear diff bushing...

The car didnt move much, so I didnt feel wheel hope. Rolled it off the track. Then I played with it. The car drove forward and the slip light came on so I put it back on my trailer.
Im by no means a pro. I did try to preload the tranny. Im going to start trying to use my line-locks to launch.

The diff cover is supported by that brace. I think it torqued after it broke.
