(bout time Nissan got it right)
Almost every tranny I had before this one shifted like crap.
It's like a totally new car

Give it a few months and let me know what it's really like.
The -008 one I got last Jan. was great the first month. It's back to clunky, but I'm thinking it's the clutch assembly or something that's giving me grief. Some days it's pretty smooth, and other days it's clunky and not smooth at all.

I'm on my second CD009 tranny. Don't go overboard just yet. My first CD009 tranny started grinding after about 6 months. I had it replaced about 2-3 months ago.
Two of my friends actually told me that a worn out pressure plate will also result in gear grinds. So to be safe, I also had my stock clutch and pressure plate replaced at the same time as my last tranny replacement. So far so good.

gNaRKiLL - can you define this "whine" I think I have the same issue and im on my original tran with 13000 on it. Is it a high pitch whistle around 3500 rpm?
If i have to get a new tran already im gonna be pissed

The whine is loud in 1st and 2nd. Try down shifting to 2nd gear when you're about to approach to a halting stop. After a year, it is still loud and clunky. It is quite intimidating as if I have a super charger hahaa ;-)
I have an 04 with 28k on it and recently ive been noticing the "whine" downshifting into 2nd and 1st. It has got me worried because just yesterday i had to clip a piece of plastic shielding hanging down under the car and one of my tranny bolts just fell out. i found the hole and put it back promptly. And on that, when i turn my car off, you can hear the tranny slowing down with a loud chatter, a second after ignition is off. I need new tranny huh?
