Default Overheating problems?

Just wondering if anyone has encountered something similar:

During driving today, I noticed that it seemed unusually hot in the car, even with windows down. I then noticed that hot air seemed to be flowing into both footwells, as well as out of the vents, even with no fan on. Shortly before I got home, I took my deck's faceplate off, and noticed that both it and the actual deck itself were almost burning hot.

Afterwards, when I got home, I opened up the hood, and there seemed to be an unusual amount of heat coming off the engine. What throws me off however is that the engine temp gauge reads normal. I'm wondering if it might be messed up somehow, since after I left it for a while (probably about 30-45min) I came back and started it up, and the engine wasn't cold at all. Is it possible that something has messed up the thermostat and coolant isn't flowing properly, or something along those lines? I've never experienced this before...any help/advice would be great. Thanks.

Please provide accurate temperature readings via electronic thermometer as underhood stopped can easily exceed [grow to 200F [100C]].

Normal for outside air to heat up 10F passing thru HVAC without AC on. Normal for floor and tranny hump [right leg] to heat up.

As stated above, there is not enough info to go on. The water temp gauge for are cars won't even move until about 225F. These cars put off alot of heat now. I've left my car for hours and come back and still be very warm. I think it's normal. But to be on the safe side, just monitor it for awhile.

Thanks for the advice,I will the e-thermostat after I take another drive. I was in ALOT of stop and go traffic last night, which could have been the culprit. The car is bone stock, no FI, and I wast driving hard in any way. Any idea why my deck would be boiling hot though?

The 350Z is hot. Put your hand on the transmission hump. If it is 70 degrees out, and the windows are open, it will be 75 degrees inside the car.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I'm still going to monitor the car, but hopefully this has just been the result of a paranoid mind mixing with unusually hot weather and city driving.
