I got the odyssey battery from Alex (Lex350) and this thing is wonderful. It's very small and light.
I have one question though. For the guys who run this battery, do you guys have the charger also or do you run without it?
Lastly, did you make your own battery tie down kit or did you buy a expensive one?
Here are the pics...

lol, yeah it's 13 lbs. They don't state it to make false assumtions. Those oddessey batteries are great and is the new trend for performance only enthusiasts.

What do you think of the Odyssey? Why did you get the Odyssey vs Braille? Just curious.

Did you get a custom tie down?

I found this thing on ebay, i'm wondering if I can make a tie down that would be NHRA legal.

LOL @ 185 CCA and only 12 Amper Hours... but then again it is a performance only light weight battery...
Though it is nice to see 10.8 lbs on the 545, and 400 cycles at 80% discharge at 77 deg F.
I use the hawker genesis series batteries for my electric go kart, but they are 42 amper hour and weigh alot more... but when you're pulling 500 amps for a 20 horse motor you need alot more umph.. lol (it does 80 mph btw).

4 of those in series for 48 volts.

I have no clue what you said. lol

I looked at the PDF data sheet for the battery that they gave. It said that at 0 degree's the battery would only put out 185 amps (cold cranking amps - CCA) AKA it wouldnt do a very good job of starting your car if it was 0 degree's outside, but that's not the point, it's a performance only battery.
An amper hour is the measure of how much energy is in the battery. 1 amper hour means the battery will output 1 amp for 1 hour. They do this because volts*amps = watts however the voltage of the battery goes down as you draw current from it, so they measure it in amper hours instead of just watts usually, however the PDF file does have the averaged power output over a steady current draw from it's spec voltage to 10.2 volts.
- translation: 12 amper hours means the battery doesnt hold much energy, but that's partly due to it's weight, less weight = less energy storage when it comes to batteries. On average I'd say that most stock 12v car batteries range from 40-60 amper hours. This one wouldnt run your radio or ignition long, but again that's not the point, it's for weight reduction for performance. I was just laughing at it's specs in those area's. But for the weight it's hard to beat.
The other comments were just about how I chose a similar but larger battery to power an electric go kart I made that has a 20 hp electric motor on it will do 80 mph (actually I dont know how fast it will go, speedo max's out at 76.9 mph and it will definitely go past that)
