as the title says, i have a 2007 z with a nismo clutch in it. i do not have the flywheel because they dont seem to fit correctly even known it says for an 07 but anyway.
i was in some stop and go traffis on the way to the mall and my foot just hit the ground, at first i was thinking maybe the clutch line snapped. i bent down and lifted the clutch back up and had very minimal pressure but enough to get into gear. i got to a parking lot and popped the hood and i noticed that my clutch resivor tank was empty, i looked under the car and there was fluid everywhere.
i just want to know why my slave cylinder went out and if there is anything i can do to prevent that besides taking the clutch out and putting the stock back in. i mean was that just chance or is the presure of the clutch more than the seals can handle i dont know.
i took it back to the nissian dealership to have them replace it and they told me it was going to cost me 670 to have a 40 dollar part replaced. through *****ing i dont have to pay anything for right now, so i asked them if this happens again am i going to have to pay for and they said yes. so i guess if this keeps happening to me every couple months then i must pay 670 thats bull ****.
i bought the clutch from nissan and had there machanics install it at the dealership and its not warrentied, that is also bullsh!t as far as i am concerd. i used to have a supercharged celica with all trd parts and it was all under warrenty.

NISMO is covered. (end of story)And i wish i could tell you that your the first the have the slave replaced but your like the 4th i have heard of on the 07. Go back a few pages on this tab and you will see several people have had problems. It starts with the clutch ped sticking to the floor.
If ya don't mind what trim is yours and how many miles?
I have the 07 enthu with like 4500. Still wishing i'm not next
Hope it all works out for ya man.
Cheers
Kevin
it happens with stock clutchs as well.
if THEY installed it, it is there responsibility, scream yell and ***** until they do it, threaten to call NNA, etc, etc... most dealership are ripoff artists...

sorry to hear, especially on a new car
I can't address the flywheel issue, as I have not looked much into the 07 yet. Slave cylinders certainly can go bad - not a common issue on a Z, and certainly not on a new car.
If the NISMO parts were bought through Nissan USA, through a dealer or a source that gets it from a dealer, the parts are covered. If the labor was done by the dealer as well, the labor is covered as well. The slave should also be covered without question, but is a relatively easy thing to change.

- Well not for the '07's right? The tranny needs to be pulled since some engineer decided it would be a great idea to mount it in the tranny axially with the output shaft.

Internalized or not...what happened to you was a fluke...If it had been the external, I would say they had popped the rod on clutch installation and messed up the cup, but on the internal, there was a defect. Bummer is this ......Hopefully you didnt get fluid on your disc, Make dam sure before you reassemble

i asked them if i did and they said that i didn't get any fluid on it. o yes i would be really pissed off then. damn clutch was about 600 then i would have to pay for labor again and all of that. i just have the worst luck in the world with things.

so they told me it would be done three days ago. well i didn't even get a phone call and i had to call them today. they said that they haven't even gotten the part in yet which really makes me mad cause for one they should have called me to let me know and i also i had a couple cars showa that i told my car club i would be in.
speaking of cars shows a couple weekends ago here in ohio i went to import face-off and won mt first trophy ever. its about 3 1/2 feet tall, i really thought that was great. sorry had to share that.

is there anything that i can do to prevent that from happening again. they told me they would warrenty it this one time but if it happens again then i will have to pay the 670.
dame good looking Z.. im not a big fan of big wings but it still looks clean.. maybe whack a decent kit on the car to even her out??
this is really tricky with it being Nismo an all.. But i can tell you this.. I work for BMW and if we sell "DINAN" if we install it and it breaks we wouldnt cover it.. the customer would have to take it up with DINAN themselves.. But that company offers warrenty on all thier products so it would normally not be a problem. hope this helps some what...

My slave cylinder went on my 07 at 2900 mi. The dealership replaced the slave cylinder, clutch, flywheel, and tob all for free. The only thing was it took almost a month for the parts to come in from japan and they didnt give me a rental to drive.

ok well i finally got my car back today but again i got a stainless steel braided clutch line that everywhere on the internet says its for an 07 and they tried to put it on and they said it didn't fit.
now this was interesting the chick i was talking to told me that i had an 08 transmition in mine bu the early 2007's still had the tranny that was in the 06 and all of that. so basically i have an 07 and half according to her.
