shifter rattle
When i accelerate my gear shifter rattles i guess. I can pull up on the shifter and it stops. when i let it back down it starts again. is this the normal clutch chatter that everyone talks about? or is this something else i should take to the dealer.

I replaced my shift **** and added a **** finisher. It rattles now, as I accelerate. Sounds like a high pitched metal piece bouncing bouncing around inside a metal lunch box. Definitely not clutch chatter. The **** and finisher mate perfectly and are tight. If I place my hand on the shift **** while I accelerate, it goes away completely. Not sure what it is either.
I purchased the car in Feb/2003, and have never heard this rattling sound with the stock shift **** until recently.

Or are you using an aftermarket ****?
Our OEM shift ***** come with a spacer. If your shift **** is loose (ie: you can loosen it with one hand) then that could be the source of your rattle.
Give it a twist to see..
If you are using an aftermarket shift ****, remove the spacer.
Hope this helps.

I got that irritating rattling noise from my shift ****... I took it to the dealer and they basically told me that it is normal for 350z's to get that issue. Well basically they were not very helpful. I am going to see if I can figure out what the heck is making all that rattling. For me it started off as this little noise rattling when i throttled but the issue worsened and now it is really loud when windows rolled up. If you guys know what this issue is let us know. Thx

my girlfriend loves when my shifter rattles!!!
