Default problem with my clutch

i had an issue with my clutch the other night. i stopped on a hill and instead of breaking I was holding the clutch and accelerating at the same time cuz i had a car behind me, after that my clutch got stock half way and a burn smell came out, i couldnt release the clutch for a few second, i started to pump it and then got release. can anybody tell me what the heck did it happend? should i bring the car to get it check? 06 350z ( 13,000 miles). i am sorry for the bad grammar. thank you guys.

Next time use your hand brake. When you want to move, give it some gas while you slowly ease up on the E-brake. Holding on a hill with your clutch is about the fastest possible way to burn up your clutch. Practice and practice some more. Eventually you won't even need the E-brake. Just have to get quick at it. Did I mention practice?

Never use the clutch to hold yourself on a hill. Thats what the hand brake is for.
