Default Rev up engine? How to tell?

Hey everyone I am hopefully buying a 03' 350z here in the next few days. My name here is my goal and as of now I don't own a Z yet so try not to make too much fun of me. I am pretty sure I am going to go with the Vortech Supercharger and I heard a lot about the Rev up version of the 3.5 motor in these cars and then there seems to be another version also. Which models come with what type of engine, how can you tell the difference and which is better if I want to Supercharge? Thanks A lot and I hope to soon be a part of the family!

I'm looking at a 03' Touring 50k miles for $17,995 and there is also a 03' enth with 18k miles for $19,785 Haven't found and 04's for some reason but the only color I want is black and it has to have leather.

Funny thing is that I had my heart set on buying a twin turbo and modding it all out. I was looking at Infinity G35's as a everyday car and then I said hey why not a G35 Coupe and then I said while I'm at it why not a 350z and then I realized why the hell do I want a 15 year old 3500 lb twin turbo, I'm going with the 350Z!

Then it most likely will be a Touring.

I would think twice about a Black Z......I have one and I love it.....but would never buy another Black car again. !!!!!!!

Check your facts.

35AE M/T and 2005 Track Models, and all 2006 M/T have rev up engines.

The easy way to tell -- look at the tach. Rev Up engines have a 7000 RPM redline.

Define "better."

The RevUp has a lower peak torque, but the torque curve is flatter and wider. The engine feels (and sounds) smoother and more refined than the 287 HP engine.

Don't get me wrong, the 287 HP engine is a great engine. I just love my RevUp.

(sign me -- autocrossed -- in the rain -- at 300 miles, no oil consumption issues)
