Default Help! My Z won't start...

... and I'm late for work!!

At first it started to turn over slowly, then seemed to die out. Now it wont turn over at all...

The lights, radio, etc work when the key is in the on position but when I turn it to start the car everything goes off... and then comes back on when I bring the key back to the on position...

No fluids under the car... nothing suspect or loose under the hood except a really dirty pop charger...

Is it possible I could have a dead battery even though the accessories turn on... maybe not enough juice to turn the starter? Im hoping thats what it is because if not then its probably my starter.... or maybe the fuel pump? Anyone got any ideas for me?

Thanks!!!!!

Sounds like you might have a weak battery, if it was a bad starter it probably wouldn't try to turn over at all.

okay so the new battery has been in for about 5 days and I've got a new problem... tonight when I tried to start my car it sputtered, the revs dropped off and it died... I tried again, same thing... .then I tried again... revved it as it started and it sprang to life.... then did the same thing again later tonight... had to rev it to get it going.... what could this be?

Could it be a fuel filter? Fuel pump? REALLY dirty air filter (im thinking from the ash because of all the fires)? What would make it do that?

First thing is go to autozone(its free) or one of the place,s around you that will do a charging system test.Watch when they do the test and note what the voltage is and the amperage is.If you see anywere from 13.9 to 14.6 volts with an amperage of around 80-100 amps(depends on the load on the system) under load the alternator is good.
