Default swapping rear differentials...

ok heres the deal. I have a base model 2005 350z and I also have a 2007 G35S. Now, i want to swap the rear diffs because the G has a VLSD and the Z does not. Will it directly bolt up? Is this swap possible or am i going to run into obstacles?

The FD ratios are different. 2007 G35 sedan uses the 3.692 and your base Z uses the 3.538. So there's more to it than just swapping for the VLSD.

The pumpkins should swap, but its no gaurantee. The 2007 G35 sedan is an updated platform, unlike the 2007 Z. I don't think anybody has tried that swap yet.

If you're going to swap in the higher gears, why bother swapping pumpkins and just rebuild your Z's pumpkin with a better diff at the same time? The effort you'll go through just to get the VLSD from the G35, while making that car slower, I just don't see the logic in it.

Better gas mileage for the G and a better gear ratio, plus a VLSD for the Z. Makes sense to me.
