Well, I have to admit it sounds nice but so far I think the amuse system sounds the best to me. BUT........ if the Borla is putting up big dyno numbers I wouldn't care if it sounded like a motorboat.

That and $650 geez sounds like a deal.

Whoa that sounds really nice. Hey leadfoot, got any sound clips of the amuse system? So far I think the Borla sounds the best in comparison to the Injen, as for the others I can't really say since I haven't heard them.

FYI...

As someone who has heard it in person, consider the "accelerating" vid as an accurate representation of the Borla sound. The "idle" video has the vid-cam too close to the source and sounds like ****, IMO. It sounds MUCH, MUCH better in person.

My suggestion for an "idle and rev" sound file would be to stand back ~10-12 ft. from the side of the car parallel with an imaginary line extending from the rear turn signal.

What does it sound like driving at cruise speed, say, 2-3K? Drone?

I'm starting to get tempted. This and Doug's plenum...and I told myself I'd wait a bit before doing serious mods.

Exclamation FYI

Another option!!

I ordered my Borla Dual through 21st Century Exhaust in Del Rey Beach FL. I have never bought anything from them before nor do I know anything about the company. I can say that they were recommended by a sales rep (Dave Orlando) out of Borla Perf Indu.

The price is $610.00 + s/h. And was told i should recieve it in about 2-3 weeks. I think this is the best price I've seen on the board yet. Their # is 1-800-276-6399 you will more than likely be speaking to Marsha.

*Note* I have been given NO incentive for this small plug but thought it was a good price to share with the rest of you.

I think it's obvious that if you change the factory exhaust, you'll notice the sound, the looks, and the smell....hehe.

If you look at the car from the back, you can see the tips are little more extended and you can also see the Borla imprint on the muffler..

if u were backin into a wall, would the tips hit first? from experience, i know the bumper hits first now. well, if the sound is a little different, that should b alright. i guess i'm more worried about how loud it is compared to stock. how are the idle and 2-3k decibals?

Thumbs up I AM SOLD!!!

HOT DAMN!!!!!

I am so pumped I will drive to the Borla warehouse and I am in NY!

That is the sickest sounding exhaust I have heard and I heard a bunch of clips from a Japanese web site!

If anyone can let me know about a group buy I am in!!!!

Damn I can;t wait for my roadster to show up..

Hrrm... planning on which part of your car will hit first when backing into stuff shouldn't be part of your mod decision process.... backing into things should be part of no process!!!

On normal driving is very quiet but different at the same time, more deep and refine.... Maybe I do a cilp inside the car.

This statement has probably been posted before, here it is anyway, I wonder why it's specifically for an automatic transmission?

Borla Performance Industries is proud to announce the release of Cat-Back™ system part number 140045. This system has been designed for the 2003 Nissan 350 Z equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine and automatic transmission. The 140045 installs to the flange just after the catalytic converter and eliminates the factory Y-pipe. Like all our systems, it is made from full aircraft quality T304 stainless steel. This system is a true dual exhaust designed with an H-pipe. It is a split rear exiting system with a 4 1/2” single round, rolled edge, angle cut tip at each exit. This system consists of dual 2 1/4” inlet pipes to a 2 1/4” H-pipe assembly. Exiting the H-pipe assembly are dual 2 1/4” pipes to a pair of 14” long by 4” diameter round mufflers. After the mufflers, a pair of 2 1/4” over axle pipes lead to a newly designed X-flow muffler. Our new “True Dual” system has resulted in gains of 23.5 horsepower and 14.7 foot pounds of torque throughout the entire RPM range which is more than brand “S” who claims 13 horsepower and 14 foot pounds of torque@ 5500 RPM and up. Our testing has shown not only that brand “S” does make the power they claim, but it also shows something they fail to mention, that below 5000 RPM they actually lose 10 horsepower. Weight comparisons show that the factory exhaust weighs 62 pounds, brand “S” weighs 74 pounds, and the Borla “True Dual” system weighs only 50 pounds. That is a huge 24-pound savings over brand “S” and a 12-pound savings over the factory exhaust. Combine our new “True Dual” Cat-Back™ exhaust with our newly developed headers (P/N 17221) for gains of up to 25 horsepower and 17 foot pounds of torque. Wow! More power, less weight, great looks and sound!

I've been asking around what people think about Borla I have gotten all positive feedback but a lot seem to mention about them using clamps but that they are of high quality and work fine.

if those numbers are accurate, then the borla would be yielding more hp/tq than the injen correct?

And the injen is true dual exhaust right?

hmm
