Default 60 miles and boom

So my brother got his new motor installed, it has sixty miles on it, he was driving it tonight, babying it during the break in period, he heard a noise and all of a sudden the car starts overheating, he pulls over to see smoke and oil pouring out from under the car.... 60 miles must be a new record...

more info for those interested:

2006 nissan 350Z enthuziast model, original engine had 30K miles on it, replaced under warranty for oil consumption, its bone stock except for a pop charger and some rims.

My brother lives in arizona, and he works for nissan what else do you want to know? His favorite color?

As for what he drives seeing as this is the 350Z section of the forum take a wild guess what he drives....

2006 350Z, Got a new motor because his old one had oil problems.

That's basically what I was thinking. You wouldn't come on a 350Z forum to talk about your brother's Corvette....

Well now that we know the facts, I don't feel as bad for him since his 3rd motor will probably be covered again under warranty. If it was a new built motor it would be a completely different story. Now THAT would suck!

Believe it or not, I have seen 2 engines very recently come with a little chunk of metal in a combustion chamber. The tech heard it, pulled off the heads and pulled it out... Very small. NISSAN Tech Line said to release the car, came back shortly after...

I think the new motors they have been building, well, haven't been quite up to par.

All the good engine builders are to busy taking their own sweet time assembling their hand built GTR motors. So they got the second string off the bench to work on the Z motors.

My 35th is on its third engine (this one is a V2) and I am currently suing Nissan under lemon law. Sounds like your brothers bar didnt have fluid or something.
