Default Friction Modifier for rear dif?

The title says it all. Does the Z with a locking rear dif need a friction modifier additive when changing rear dif fluids?

TIA

Are you talking about the factory VLSD? Or an aftermarket LSD?

If factory then no.

If aftermarket, follow the guidelines of the manufacturer.

some fluids (motul and redline for instance) include a package in thier oils, so you don't have to mix it.

not sure about others though.

My Corvette requires 4-6 oz but none is required with Redline but is with BG. So....I guess its included in some synthetics. It isn't mentioned in the Z manual though.

I guess it can't hurt, can it ???????? I'm so confused! Suppose I'll ask Nissan. They always want to sell their brand though, not a bad thing.
