Lightbulb Has anyone tried the new 7 AT?

I read today Infiniti is matching up the new 7 speed automatic with manual mode to the 3.5 and 3.8 litre motors. I'm wondering if anyone has tried to mount this tranny to the VQ35DE? Or maybe a better solution would be to replace the VQ35/5AT with the V8 and 7AT. I want a GTR but I don't want to pay the stealership the markup. I'd rather GTR-ize my 03 Z instead.

Even if you did that it wouldn't match the GT-R handling wise.

Well, I'm not the one that's complaining about markups and GT-R's and saying I want to try a V8 with a 7AT

The GT-R statement was a joke. I think any simpleton can see that you can't turn a 350z into a GT-R no matter what you do. My intention is to take the car I already own and improve it with a bigger engine and a better? transmission. Some people are putting LS-1 engines in their Z's with what seems to be great success. My question is has anyone tried this with the Nissan V-8 instead of the GM one? More basically, can the 7 speed automatic be bolted up to the VQ35 block?

Do you understand the question now, or do you still feel the need to make some smart-*** comment?
