Stock DE-K's have a revlimiter at that RPM. In order to bypass that, The EU adds a bunch of fuel, and thus you have that big dip for 200rpm.

He says at Full throttle its not noticeable...

Maybe a dumb question but what's motor does a VQ30DE-K come in? And why the swap verses the VQ35DE?3

Nevermind just read your other post.

Maxima. 2000-2001. Its basicly a VQ30DE with a varible Intake manifold. Power went from 190hp to 222hp with this motor, then in 2002 Nissan switched to the VQ35DE (which, in FWD for at least, still has a varible manifold)

This cars manifold has been gutted (which helps explain why there is low end power loss, cams add to that somewhat)

He's actually swapping out this motor for a VQ35DE as we speak.

For what he has done, VERY.

I think something like this is very possible for the 350Z...JWT cams, Revup Manifold/Cosworth...who knows...

I was thinking the same thing. It seems like Cams is the way to go on the Z with any setup configuration.

With a better setup and oil pump, he could have revved out to bout 8000rpm, and made 275hp at 7600rpm or so.

Cams.
I don't know why people think they will go fast and make power without them.

He said they were similar to JWT s1 cams. JDM Vq35DE cams...??? VQ30DE's don't have VVT, so could you imagine the powerband on a VQ35?

It's a 3.0 Liter Making peak power at 7.5k. Any time you make power at RPM it will always have lower torque i.e Honda f20, Toyota 2zz
