Default *Help Please* Can someone tell me if my stock oil filter cooler is on in this pic?

I bought this car with an aftermarket oil cooler and I would like to know if the stock oil filter cooler housing is still intact. the coolant lines are going into a housing behind the aftermarket unit. i was planning on removing the aftermarket cooler because I think it is overkill for a stock car. It looks to me like the stock unit is still there and the aftrermarket front peice can be unscrewed and the filter will screw back on the the stock cooler. Is there any gaskets or anything needed to do this? Here are the pics:

Yes, your stock oil cooler/warmer is there.

You can remove the aftermarket sandwich plate and reinstall the filter on the oem piece without any additional work. I agree with you that an oil cooler is overkill on a stock car that is street driven, if it is not thermostatically controlled.

Thanks guys, That is what I thought. I removed the aftermarket sandwich but i just had a question on what the possible torque spec is on the center stud bolt that holf the stock housing to the block. I do not want to overtighten it and crush the coolant passages.

Actully I just did the removel. It cost me 30 bucks for the weilding. It was really easy but I had it out the car when I did it. It shouldn't be that much harder with the motor in tho.

Don't forget to send me photos of the cooler. Looks like the Stillen one with the red/blue connectors and braided lines.

I'll buy that off of you too, Scott...
