+1, Fram is garbage. Use an OEM Nissan filter, or a K&N, Amsoil, Wix, or Mobil 1 filter. There are other good ones too; bottomline is dont use Fram.

All you need is a synthetic funnel.

k i just got in,, returned the oil and filter, went to nissan and got oem filter, along with mobile 1 (5w-30) and the little washer for the drain bolt, and changed the oil... the cover thingy was in the way so that took some time to take off but other than that it was pretty straight forward.. but one question tho.. when i try to check the oil, its like i put water in the engine. when i take out the dipstick oil is soo thin, is that normal with mobile 1 syntethic??? sorry for the long response

hope you kept the receipt for the oem filter, especially if its part# 15208-65F00. Nissan uses the same cardboard endcaps as the basic fram filters. you would be better off finding another listed by spoilsofwar above. if you decide to keep it, at least you know what would better for the next purchase. posted from another forum...

I would avoid using 5W-30 synthetic because their properties made the oil fairly thin. And it has the tendency to burn much quicker than 10-30. I've actually had used 5W-30 mobil one before, and it burned so quick that my shop told me to switch from 5W-30 to 10W-30. It has since ran fine with not a single drop of oil missing after the switch. +1 with everyone else said about Fram oil filter. They are pure garbage. I would use K&N or use Veruspeed(nismo) filters for our motor. Veruspeed can be purchased through Andy@performance. But they are fairly pricey though.

5w-30 and 10w-30 will have the weight except at a cold start. the first number is the winter/cold weight. even in the same weight of 10w-30, there are thicker and thinner brands. what brand of 10w-30 did you go with?

+1 read that. I read it and I use mobil 1 0w-40 "for european cars" or German castrol. I use a mobil 1 filter usually or wix.
