NEW RSRExMag DS! With INTERESTING description...
Ok, so RSR has peaked my interest in their GT2 exhaust for the 350z. I just love the looks, and I really like the design of the exhaust. So after posting a few posts down to pick at your guys' brains...I started to do a bit of my own research...and here's what I found.
RSR will be releasing a brand new product line designed especially for the 350Z. It will be called the ExMag DS (Dual sound) and will be released soon. Attached is an image of the exhaust....very interesting! But what I found EXTREMELY interesting is that they are the first "manufacturer" to admit he 350z's ecu limits the gains of mod's!

RS-R USA announces an all new exhaust line called the ExMag DS. The ExMag DS, also known as the "Dual Sound" muffler in Japan, features an all new look compared to the traditional RS-R exhaust line. This system was specifically designed for the Nissan 350Z and features complete stainless steel construction with the latest in muffler technology. The DS system has a unique muffler design that promotes a deep refined exhaust note that compliments the already agressive 350Z style.
The "Dual Sound" exhaust system was designed as a street application for MAXIMUM power potential and displays the best of RS-R craftmanship and engineering. This exhaust system is one of the finest examples of Japanese exhaust engineering. It features 60mm mandrel bent piping along with a dyno proven design. The 350Z catback exhaust system includes an H-pipe style center resonator section that mates to the factory OEM catalytic convertors. This helps keep sound levels well below most required regulations. Also, included are dual stainless steel flex sections to prevent potential stress fractures due to vibration and engine movement. There is no doubt that this exhaust is built to last!
It is a well known fact that it is extrememly difficult to make any additional horsepower on the new 350Z due to the built in safety electronics that tend to rob any significant gains in horsepower. However, through several months of R&D, RS-R engineers found the sweet middle ground that would allow significant gains across the entire powerband. Unlike other manufacturers that just slap together a few pipes and a muffler, RS-R took the additional time to ensure that proper testing was done from this "ground-up" system.
In addition to the DS exhaust, the best selling GT2 series will also debut in the USA in July 2003. The GT2 exhaust for the 350Z features a slightly different dyno proven design at a more affordable price. More details about the GT2 exhaust line can be found in our "PRODUCTS" area of our website.

Interesting exhaust, can't wait to hear about gains!!

This exhaust is on hold for now . . .they ran into a problem with the US spec car having an evap. can in the way on the rear passenger side. I hear it is supposed to sound awesome though.
I do wonder if their remarks may just be a CYA if it does not make the power wanted.

Yeah.....it looks like a really nice exhaust.......i wish they'd hurry up and finish it.....the dual exhaust market is still pretty lean for our cars.......it's pretty much just Borla and Injen......i'd really like to see JDM stuff in this area
