Default Driveshaft compatibility 03-08

This page says the 6MT transmission is the same for all 03-08.

http://www.vibratesoftware.com/html_...sions.htm#350Z

I know the VQ35HR uses a different bellhousing than the VQ35DE. The HR uses the same bellhousing as the VQ40DE (Frontier). The 6MT Frontier it also listed as using the FS6R31A. In fact all 6MT 03-08 350z are listed as having the FS6R31A. Which means the bellhousing does not mater, the code (guts, internals) is still the same.

Does this mean that I can physically fit a 2004 driveshaft into a 2008 transmission?

Thank you.

If the relevant part numbers are the same, yes.

Thanks. Has anyone actually seen a DE transmission and HR transmission side to side?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I have an '04.5 Base and have heard conflicting information in regards to if all Z's have CF Driveshafts.

all early model Z drive shaft were CF... and I dont recall seeing/hearing of failure... so I cant imagine later models would not have.

As for specs/dimensions? I don’t know... has your wheelbase or platform changed over the years? I don’t think it has... so I'm pretty sure its the same?
