Does the throttle open 100% ????

I read somewhere someone cut some rubber piece off his pedal to make it travel further or something. I forgot, but it was some mod. Somehow he endedup messing it up and it required him to buy a new pedal assembly.

That's why i don't really buy into people measuring a mod by feel (i.e. butt dyno). As i've said before, you could actually lose low end torque and make your car seem to accelerate faster because the slope is altered.
I hear what you're saying, but unless I wrote something incorrectly, this is the opposite of what I'm claiming. progressively pressing the throttle makes the engine feel slower too me.

And regardless of what might be actually happening, I am not ready to give up the thought that the computer is doing two different things with regard to the way the engine performs.

A linear torgue curve, like in the Z, can be less inspiring to drive than a peaky curve because you don't get the feeling that comes with exponential increases in power through the RPM range. But for a given car (same curve), I have to believe that any throttle tricks the driver could perform, would be easy to pick out. The engine still seems to have two different characters to me, and I'm only a guessing that the switch is the computer.

I hate to keep this thread going just to debate this issue because, admittedly, this is only a "feeling" that I get after putting 5500 miles on my car. but I haven't heard anything to talk me out of this impression yet.

Do I need to give you a minute to figure out why progressively pressing the throttle would feel slower than romping on it all at once?

You progressively press the throttle and therefore progressively open the throttle body and therefore progressively let more air in and progressively let more fuel in. This is only going to exacerbate the linear "no rush of power" feeling of a NA motor. When you progressively open the throttle you are making less power at any given RPM until you have the throttle open all the way. Not to mention the ECU going into open loop mode at full throttle and bypassing its fuel consumption maps, etc. Open it all at once if you want to go fast. Open it slowly if you want to go faster but still are concerned with gas mileage. Also, don't forget about CVTTCVT or whatever our PROGRESSIVE cam timing is called. If you progressively open the throttle you are not allowing the cam timing to go full agressive (if that exists with stock cams) until you get to full throttle. OF COURSE easing into the throttle feels slower. IT IS!!
