Actually you did abuse it, you bounced off the rev limiter, how many other times have you done this, racing is abuse. U lucked out if they are replacing it under warranty, mark it as a lesson learned and be careful. Delete this topic too. Probly some *** on here is going to try to send the info to your dealer.

 

i would abuse the living hell out of my old altima all the time, trust me i dont abuse my car, specially sinces its my first car i buy, $hit sometimes i treat her better than my wife! now its a sports car... it has to have alittle tolerance but i dont know.

 

Assuming everything you have said is accurate, you just got VERY unlucky, bouncing off your rev limiter should not have messed up the car. That's what the rev limiter is there for.

Yeah, so weird..something else must have happened, or maybe the service department is milking it for warranty work. Times are tough at the dealership these days!!
