Default Brand of gas make a difference?

Just saw the thread about whether we should use 91 or 87 octane gas.

What about the brand? Any experts out there can tell me what the best brand is? I've not been very selective as far as where I get gas (basically the closest gas station when i am low). The only thing that I make sure is to get 91 octane gas.

How about you guys? In bay area, we got shell, 76, amoco, arco (i am sure i am missing some others). any reason to pick one over the others?

Thanks.

Smile I use Amoco.

My brother is a chemical engineer. Part of his graduate research was with gasoline. He states that Amoco is the best and they use no Mid East oil. Best meaning purest and cleanest. I use Amoco 93 in my car only.

haha I had to do the same test as a thesis/graduate study. I was told by someone that mosr SE MI gas was supplied by the same oil company (Total). I didn't see how this was possible as it made no sense. Then someone else made mention of it and I decided then and there to perform some research of my own to prove it. I found the same results as your brother with Mobil running a very close second (which relieved my worries as I'm a Mobil freak and usually only fill with that.)

Hit search. There is at least one very long thread on brand of gas.
