Isnt short ram suppose to sound better?

 

Coming from the perspective of a CAI or Short Ram comparison on any car, a short ram will keep the filter away from all the heat, while a CAI will direct the filter to the closest point of cold air. For example, people have put Civic Short Ram intakes on Grand Am's, and that involves chopping through the fenderwell to get the filter away from the heat, while a CAI fits right down next to the Washer Fluid bottle and puts the cone filter practically behind the driver side fog light, getting the coldest air possible.

The only cons I can think of with a CAI is water ingestion. Stay away from deep puddles, water in an intake= bad news
