Response from Autometer about gauge pods
I e-mailed autometer about replacement A-Pilars and this was there reply:
Dear Sir or Madam,
We do plan on producing a full pillar for the new 350Z. Look for this
product to be released later this year sometime between November and
December.
Sincerely,
Mike Sueto

Victor, as far as I know, air/fuel guages are never accurate. I went the HKS CAMP route and bought sensors for EGT, oil Temp and Boost (for the Procharger)......as for air/fuel, I will be purchasing my own personal wideband o2 sensor and display....I was recommended a company called FJO...check this out:

Seems like the best alternative to dyno tuning for air/fuel

Their setup is much cheaper and has much more logging capabilities than the FJO setup. The display sucks, but I've worked a deal with the manufacturer where I purchase a Nordskog gauge and they will adapt the WBO2 setup to use that gauge accurately.
Here's a pic of what my Wideband display is gonna look like when they're done.

That display seems backward to me. For some reason it seems like it would be more intuitive if it went clockwise from Rich to Lean. That way anything way to the right would be bad (kinda like the speedo or tach). Is there a way for that to happen (like a reversible spring and face or something?).

Jesse, what do you mean by... "but I've worked a deal with the manufacturer where I purchase a Nordskog gauge and they will adapt the WBO2 setup to use that gauge accurately"? Will their system be able to "digitally" display the reading on a monitor, PDA, etc?

Keepup, it can already do that, check out my wideband o2 thread on 350zfrenzy. I don't have a computer yet and don't have a PDA so I'd like to mount that analog gauge in my cockpit to properly monitor AFR's with my wideband o2 setup.
Jesse, we are on the same page.....It looks like we will have the same set-up. Can this wideband be ordered from a dealer here in the States? And who have you found to offer the best price?

No, it's made in Australia and is a very small company they don't advertise and don't have any type of distribution network.
If you're looking at getting one, I'd make sure I got one set up for the 7057 sensor because that sensor is much easier to locate and much cheaper than the other type. I bought my sensor at a VW dealership for $30. If you want to ask questions about the setup there is a forum on yahoo. You'll also only need the 2.6 meter cable, not the 4 meter cable. If you have any questions about the setup particular to the 350z, let me know. I will be doing a review on the setup once I get my hands on the final revision of their logging software.

This WB setup is capable of logging RPM, AFR, 3 EGT inputs, and 3 user programmable inputs, ie. boost, fuel pressure and oil temp.
The only problem I've had so far with this setup is overheating of the sensor. I'm going to have to put a heatsink on the sensor and reduce the amount of the sensor tip that is in the exhaust gas flow, by adding a couple washers or something.

Stay away from the air/fuel gauge, it doesn't do anything as far as giving readings. All it does is have pretty lights that move up and down
