Smell me!!!
So, as a few of you know, Nissan replaced my engine (long block) a WEEK before warranty was up. Good news, but now something is weird.
Ever since the new engine, when I shut the engine off, I hear "ticking" from the exhaust. I know this is normal, its the catalytic converters doing their thing.
But my concern is, every time I go up a hill, or under load, my car produces a rotten egg smell and NEVER has it done this before. Why now from a new engine??? Didn't do this before.

Hydrogen sulfide is the “rotten egg smell” that you mentioned. It is typically caused by a rich fuel mixture. The catalytic converter may be faulty or you may be running rich. It may also be the new cats getting a few heat cycles on them. My advise: Report it to Nissan to make sure you will be covered in case the smell does not go away over time.
Wow, good to know. As far as I know, they never replaced the cat(s), but a week before the engine transplant, they did a test on them (cats), for some reason. I'll check to see if they're new. Don't want this car running rich
haha meow. Ya they replaced my clutch too, but I severely doubt it's that. I will find out and let you know.
