Default Clutch Problem

Hi Guys

2005 350ZR (Stock)

My clutch pedel started getting softer and softer and gears became more difficult to engage, Now my Peddel is flat on the floor and I cant select gears.

So does my complete clutch need replacing ?
Hydraulic problem ?

Thanks

You need a new clutch. May as well add a flywheel.

OK, thanks

I just checked and all the fluid is still there, so it must be the clutch.

Your clutch master or slave is bad. Easy fix , just need to figure out what one failed.

A clutch being out of adjustment makes it hard to select gear, a bad clutch makes it hard to accel cause it will be slipping.

Makes sense, cause the clutch was not slipping before all this happened.

How do I check which needs to be replaced ??

Where are these 2 located in the engine bay ?

I checked the Master and the Fluid was still perfect and no leaks around the Master,

Could it still be the Slave if the Fluid is still all there in the Master bottle ?

Update:

So we checked the Master Cylinder and fluid level - all perfect with no leaks
Checked the Slave Cylinder - No leaks - no problems.

We then decieded to take a chance and bleed it - bled it , pumped the clutch pedal - Nothing !!!!! Still pedal down to the floor with no pressure!

That was Thursday afternoon.

Went to the car today (saturday) to try and do some more investigation - To my surprise - Pedal back at the top and working Fine !!!

Drove the car today with no issues. Clutch Pedal feels better that before all of this happened. SO after the car standing more more than a 6 weeks - All Sorted I hope.

Thanks

hmm i wonder if my clutch master cylinder is going bad. cuz my clutch pedal likes to suck back down a little bit when i step on the gas hard. or when it rains and i lose traction.

my friends 350z dont have this problem..

Just bleed it out for now and see if it happens again, our 05 does the same thing once and a while.

I would for sure - it's hot and humid where you live and clutch/brake fluid absorbs moisture. As it does, it's boiling temp drops to the floor. To be on the safe side, use a good quality fluid (there are lots out there, no need to go nuts with it for just a stock car) and do it 1 time per year (brakes and clutch)
