Default No Clutch chatter solution

Just installed a lightweight Fidanza flywheel and ACT NZ1-HDSS and drove it for about 300 miles and I haven't heard the clutch not once. It is quiter than stock so for everyone looking for performance without the noise this is the answer!

I bought them at different times knowing the clutch going out. Pulled it all down and realized the flywheel was shot. Got them from assault tech. special on flywheel. 650 for clutch and 300 on flywheel. There is no sound to hear at all. It is completely silent. Love it and grabs like unreal. Much Much Much torquier. Butt dyno is def different

well I've got about 500 miles on it now and still no chatter. Make sure if you're changing the flywheel to line up the marks b/w the crank and flywheel. It is marked and does matter!

well even my oem flywheel would chatter and pop and once I pulled and took the flywheel to a machinist he said it was completely shot and would highly advise to get a new one. It only lasted about 60k which is good from what I've read up on these forums. Do what you will but a stock flywheel is about 500 bucks. Every 60k or clutch change add 500??? I know the fidanza has a plate that can be replaced and it's only about 50 bucks and has no chatter.

I have to respectfully disagree - it is not quieter than stock. It may be quieter than your previous setup, which indicates your throw out bearing was toast (common issue) but it is by no means quieter than stock

A stock flywheel is also no where near $500 - it's about double that

The Fidanza flywheel = JWT btw (Fidanza makes both).

I have 93k on my 03 Z and just had a Nismo clutch and flywheel put in at the dealership. I drove out of the lot and turned right back around. There was so much noise coming from the trans at about 2000-2500 RPMs under load. I had to move to Tx so I waited till i got there to get it looked at. The dealership put a new trans in, (still under extended warrenty) and the noise is still there. They are still trying to take care of it, very helpfull service. Seems like the 350Z has an abnormaly loud trans for a street car. Anyone know if that noise is common?

well documented on the site if you search around a bit - ALL lightweight flywheels will exhibit more noise than stock, as they are single mass units, vs the factory dual mass unit

ok, well it has finally started giving me a little noise in first and second gear mainly in second when it's actually geared to high. For instance I roll through a stop sign slow and leave it in second it'll make some noise or roll out slow in first. Heard this from other stick shifts and seems normal to me. There is no noise at idle though. about 2k miles on it now.

I have the Fidanza and Exedy stage 1 and it makes some noise.. I dont really care because I'm all about performance.. The clutch/fly, KAAZ diff, 3.9 FD, HFC's, Greddy evo2 on my car all make some kind of noise. Which = alot of NOISE!!
