engine VIN or block number

I think he is talking about one on the block of the engine and that pic doesn't show where it is just the ones on the car. On the engine, it should be on the block just below one of the heads. I saw it a few years ago but the engine was out of the car so and I dont remember which side it was on. It will be stamped in the block though on a little flat piece and say VQ35DE and the block number will be under that.

So i have a question. Is this serial number associated with the VIN? I think my engine is a victim of oil consumption but the engine is not in the original chassis, so the dealership may not believe that my block is out of a 2006 305z 6mt.

If you have the right motor for an 06 MT Z you will have a Rev-Up and the engine is specific to that year.
